While rules of grammar are pretty much defined and I can understand someone challenge others for incorrect use, biggest quirk for me are the pronunciations in English, where one doesn't pronounce what one writes and vice-versa.
Why is "Monroe" pronounced "Munro" ?? and this is just one of the many idiosyncrasies :(
