The most deadly spiders in Australia are the funnel web and the redback. A redback bite won't kill a heathly adult human, and no-one has died of a funnel web bite since antivenom was developed in 1981.
Snakes, on the other hand ...
Also sharks, jellyfish, octopuses, stonefish, crocodiles, cassowaries. And drop bears. Attempts to produce an Australian spider man (pronounced "Strayan Spoyda maan") have been unsuccessful.
