kevinwparker is right. Here's the proof:1/9 = 0.1111111...9 * (1/9) = 9 * 0.111111...1 = 0.999999...Your brain truncates the digits, which is why it is hard for people to understand this. It is this truncation that later makes you believe you have to "round up."
