ReplyDeleteI recently heard that the term "sled riding" is unique to Cincinnati becasue it is the English translation of the German term.
ReplyDeleteApparently, everyone else calls it "sledding".
i knew "sled riding" was a regional term. i found this out as a teenager when i silenced a shocked crowd of my peers from around the midwest who exclaimed they had never heard anyone use such an "old-fashioned" term for sledding.
ReplyDeletei hadnt heard the german language connection though - that's interesting! thanks!
